Guust Nieuwenhuis achieved a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Computer Sciences (specialisation in Multimedia) at EhB (Erasmushogeschool Brussel). As part of his degree, Guust completed an internship at European Service Network (ESN), where he developed new applications for their intranet. His final thesis included the analysis, design and development of a Rich Internet Application: Janus, Business o?ce management web application.

Since 1 August 2008, Guust works as a consultant for I.R.I.S. Solutions & Experts s.a./n.v., and is seconded to the European Commission, DG Secretariat-General. His tasks include developing web applications used by the different Commission services as well as by the citizens of the European Union. The technologies used for this development are ColdFusion, Java, Fusebox, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML and Oracle.

Recently Guust Nieuwenhuis also started his own company, Orange Lark, which delivers web solutions (sites, applications and consultancy) to various clients such as Statik, Jobat, Exit_Brass! and Mastercab.
